KFF delegation explores Riyadh’s metro safety and emergency response

The Acting Deputy Chief of the General Fire Force for Civil Protection, Brigadier General Omar Abdulaziz Hamad, paid an official visit to the Civil Defense Directorate in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of efforts to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the fields of safety and fire prevention.

During the visit, Brigadier-General Hamad met with the Director-General of Civil Defense, Major General Dr. Hamoud bin Suleiman Al-Faraj, and the Assistant Director General of Civil Defense for Safety Affairs, Major-General Ajab Sadhan Al-Harbi.

Discussions focused on reviewing security, safety, and fire-prevention systems implemented across the Riyadh train and metro network, as well as mechanisms for responding to emergencies and potential incidents.
The Kuwaiti delegation conducted field tours of several metro stations and visited the Saudi Railway Company (SAR), where it met with project officials and technical teams.

The delegation was briefed on the latest technologies, operational procedures, and practical experiences related to fire prevention, protection systems, and emergency response within major railway projects.
The visit was carried out under the directive of the Chief of the General Fire Force, Major General Talal Al-Roumi, within the framework of strengthening institutional cooperation and benefiting from leading regional experiences.
It also forms part of the General Fire Force’s technical and informational preparations to keep pace with modern railway projects and enhance readiness in line with international safety standards.
