The Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) received a trade delegation from the Republic of Azerbaijan, headed by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, with the participation of several representatives from the Azerbaijani private sector.
The meeting also included Kuwaiti representatives from various economic sectors, reports Al-Rai daily.
In a statement following the meeting, the KCCI noted that bilateral trade between Kuwait and Azerbaijan has shown tangible growth in recent years, though it remains below the desired potential.
The Chamber emphasized the importance of expanding sectoral cooperation and diversifying the export basket between the two nations.
It also highlighted the potential for collaboration in market access, conformity certification, and logistics routes, along with targeted promotional initiatives focusing on value-added goods and services.
The KCCI added that facilitating trade missions and fostering investment partnerships would help stimulate a more dynamic and mutually beneficial economic relationship.
For his part, Minister Mikayil Jabbarov reaffirmed the strength of the historical ties between Kuwait and Azerbaijan, especially in the economic and commercial spheres.
He underscored that Azerbaijan’s stable economy and robust private sector, supported by direct government backing, create an attractive investment environment.
Jabbarov invited Kuwaiti investors to explore promising opportunities in key sectors such as food security, energy, real estate, and tourism, noting that Kuwait’s strategic location enhances the potential for deeper bilateral cooperation.
