KASCO opens door to Kuwaiti farmers in push to boost local produce, food security

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Aviation Services Company (KASCO), Abdulrahman Al-Kandari, has affirmed the company’s full readiness to cooperate with Kuwaiti farmers to supply their agricultural products in line with the company’s operational needs.

In a statement to KUNA following a meeting with the Kuwaiti Farmers Union, Al-Kandari said cooperation will commence at the earliest opportunity, with a clear supply mechanism to be established and strict adherence to health and quality requirements for all products to be supplied, reports Al-Jarida daily.

He noted that this initiative is being implemented in accordance with the directives of the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shabib, and the company’s Board of Directors.

Al-Kandari explained that the move reflects KASCO’s commitment to supporting local produce and strengthening the role of the Farmers Union, in line with the directives of the country’s leadership to encourage national suppliers and promote the Kuwaiti produce.

He added that partnering with local farmers will contribute to enhancing food sustainability and improving the quality of services provided by the company.

Relying on domestic produce, he said, demonstrates KASCO’s confidence in the quality of Kuwaiti agricultural produce and their ability to meet the requirements of national companies in accordance with the highest approved standards.
