KAFCO refuels over 54,000 aircraft in one year, averaging 148 flights daily

Recent data shows that 54,371 aircraft were serviced with jet fuel by the Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company (KAFCO) during fiscal 2024/2025, averaging 148 aircraft per day. This marks an increase of approximately 3,000 aircraft compared to the previous year.
According to a report by the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC), 98.9% of refueled aircraft used Jet A-1 fuel, while 579 aircraft were supplied with JP-8 fuel.
For the first time, Kuwait Airways aircraft began receiving Kuwaiti jet fuel at four international airports — Sri Lanka, Istanbul, Kathmandu, and Najaf. Additionally, Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense aircraft are being supplied at global airports.
KAFCO has also signed four new international fuel supply contracts with companies in Turkey, Yemen, Nepal, and a private aviation firm, and updated seven contracts based on IATA standards.
Jet fuel production reached 10.217 million metric tons — 25.2% of KNPC’s total output —marking a 219,500-ton increase over projections.
Notably, Kuwait exported 13,400 tons of jet fuel abroad under the new low-sulfur (500 ppm) specifications. The fuel was shipped from the Shuaiba wharf at the Mina Abdullah refinery to meet KPC customer demand.
Despite operational growth, KAFCO’s net profits declined by 24.5%, falling from 26.024 million dinars in 2023/2024 to 19.647 million dinars in 2024/2025.
The Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) transported 32.7 million metric tons last year, including 25.5 million tons of crude oil; 2 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG); 5.2 million tons of petroleum products; oil tankers accounted for 18% of Kuwait’s total exports and 55% of KPC’s export volume via delivery and unloading.
The Maritime Agency managed the arrival of 1,521 oil tankers, including 175 Kuwaiti tankers
1,346 foreign tankers. This represents a 4.97% increase over the previous fiscal year.
