Judiciary adjusts work for summer; only urgent and detainee cases in August
Court evening sessions remain suspended until October

Deputy Chief Justice of the Court of First Instance, Counselor Khaled Al-Othman, announced that all judicial circuits of the Court of First Instance will continue operating throughout July.
However, starting in August, the court activity will be scaled down to include only administrative, urgent, and family circuits handling urgent matters, along with selected criminal circuits that oversee detainee cases. The evening sessions remain suspended until October, reports Al-Rai daily.
In a message to judges and advisors, Al-Othman reflected on the achievements of the outgoing judicial year, praising their dedication and professionalism.
He highlighted the significant progress made in resolving cases and improving coordination among colleagues, litigants, and attorneys — efforts that contributed positively to the efficiency and performance of the court.
“Our gathering today is an opportunity to recognize your commendable efforts,” he said, “which are evident in the high percentage of resolved cases and the timely management of sessions.
These strides support our shared goal of delivering swift and fair justice, avoiding conflicting rulings in similar cases, and maintaining a smooth judicial process.”
He added that judges’ requests regarding leave and work arrangements were accommodated in line with operational needs and the public interest.
Al-Othman also extended his gratitude to the Ministry of Justice, the members of the Technical Office, the directors of the Clerk’s Departments of both the General and Family Courts, and all court staff for their dedicated contributions throughout the year.
