Juan Pizzi appointed as Head Coach of Kuwait’s National Football Team

Argentine coach with extensive international experience to lead Kuwait in 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Football Association, Haif Al-Mutairi, has officially announced that Argentine coach Juan Pizzi has been signed on a one-year contract to lead Kuwait’s national team in the third round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

According to reports by Al-Anba newspaper, Al-Mutairi confirmed that both the Board of Directors and the Technical Committee of the Association chose Pizzi after thoroughly evaluating several candidates.

He highlighted Pizzi’s extensive experience, noting that he previously coached the Saudi national team in the 2018 World Cup, led the Bahrain national team, and won the Copa America 2016 title with the Chilean national team.

Al-Mutairi stated that they believe Coach Pizzi’s experience and previous successes make him the right choice for the national team. He also expressed hope that the coach will lead the Blues to achieve positive results in the upcoming period.

Al-Mutairi assured that the association will prepare the national team thoroughly to achieve the desired outcomes that align with the team’s ambitions.

He also expressed gratitude to the General Sports Authority for their support and assistance in finalizing the contract with Pizzi.
