Jazeera Airways to launch flights from Qaisumah Airport in KSA to support safe passenger movements

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, announced today that it will commence operating flights imminently from Qaisumah Airport (AQI) in Hafar Al Batin, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This follows an official approval granted to Jazeera Airways by the relevant competent authorities in both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
To prioritize the safe return and travel outbound of Kuwaiti and expat travelers during the current regional situation, Jazeera operations will be moved to AQI. This initiative is particularly important as since Kuwait International Airport remains closed for safety reasons, leaving large number of travelers currently stranded in different countries away from their homes and families as well of residents and travelers in Kuwait looking to return home. Jazeera Airways will help facilitate their return to Kuwait through AQI.
Passengers arriving at AQI Airport, located approximately 2.5 hours from Kuwait, can travel overland to Kuwait. Likewise, travelers wishing to depart from Kuwait can organize road transport to AQI Airport to board Jazeera Airways flights and connect onward to various destinations across the airline’s network.
All passengers travelling through AQI must hold a valid KSA visa.
Jazeera Airways is also looking to work with bus operators to launch bus services to AQI to provide options for customers who will not be driving. Customers will have to procure their own tickets.
Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, said: “Since the onset of the current regional developments, our teams have been working round the clock to activate contingency plans and identify safe and practical travel solutions for our passengers.
“Operating from Qaisumah Airport allows us to reconnect travelers with their homes and families while maintaining the highest priority on safety. We appreciate the facilitation and approvals and remain in close coordination with the relevant authorities in Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support passengers and restore connectivity in a responsible and secure manner,” he added.
The airline had earlier activated its emergency response plans and positioned aircraft and crew to support passenger movements as soon as operational approvals were secured. During the airport closure, the airline has already transported over 600 transit passengers from Kuwait to KSA overland and onwards on different airlines allowing them to reach their respective destinations safely.
Jazeera Airways continues to monitor developments closely in coordination with government authorities. Further details regarding flight schedules, booking procedures, and passenger arrangements will be announced shortly through the airline’s official communication channels including jazeeraairways.com, the Jazeera Airways app and social media channels.
