Jazeera Airways announced Sunday the resumption of its commercial flights to and from the Egyptian city of Sohag via Qaisumah Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, effective March 29.

Barathan Pasupathi, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this is the sixth destination the company operates in Egypt via Qaisumah Airport, which will enhance air connectivity between Kuwait and one of its most important travel routes.

Pasupathi added that the resumption of this route comes in response to increasing demand for travel, particularly for family reunions, as well as to support essential travel for work and personal commitments.

He noted that the Egyptian community is the largest among Arab expatriates residing in Kuwait. He explained that the resumption of flights to Sohag strengthens the company’s ability to connect passengers to multiple destinations, indicating that the company continues to focus on maintaining reliable connectivity under the current challenging circumstances.

He stated that Jazeera Airways has facilitated the transport of more than 8,500 passengers between Kuwait and Egypt via Qaisumah Airport, ensuring the continuity of travel during this difficult period.

He noted that the airline connects Egypt and Kuwait via Qaisumah Airport with six destinations: Alexandria, Cairo, Sphinx, Assiut, Luxor, and Sohag, providing passengers with wider options and greater flexibility.

He explained that check-in procedures are completed at Jazeera Airways’ passenger check-in center in Mishref International Fairgrounds, Hall 8, from where passengers are transported by bus to Qaisumah Airport to continue their journeys.

Pasupathi stated that expanding the network of destinations in Egypt is part of Jazeera Airways’ commitment to maintaining Kuwait’s global connectivity, with the airline currently serving approximately 20 destinations through Qaisumah Airport.

He added that passengers can book their flights through the Jazeera Airways website or the Jazeera Airways mobile app, and that there are plans to gradually add more flights and destinations.
