In a statement to KUNA, Ambassador Kenichiro said, “We are honored by His Highness’s visit to Japan, where he met with His Majesty Emperor Naruhito, Crown Prince Fumihito, and Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. The visit culminated in a mutual agreement to enhance bilateral relations into a comprehensive strategic partnership.”

The ambassador highlighted that the visit included the signing of multiple agreements and memoranda of cooperation, reflecting both countries’ shared commitment to broadening collaboration across vital sectors.

Among the signed documents was a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on diplomatic training between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Kuwait. Ambassador Kenichiro expressed hope that this would further strengthen ties between the two foreign ministries.

He also announced a major step toward energy collaboration, with the signing of a cooperation agreement on electricity, water, and renewable energy between Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry and Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy.

In the economic domain, the ambassador pointed to the signing of a MoU on direct investment between the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority. He noted that this will pave the way for expanded entry and investment by Japanese companies in Kuwait.

Ambassador Kenichiro emphasized that the outcomes of the visit will deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, reinforcing a solid relationship built on shared values and mutual interests.

“Japan looks forward to continuing its work with His Highness and the Government of Kuwait to advance our relations across all fields and levels,” he affirmed.
