Jahra Governor highlights role of education in environmental care

Hamad Jassim Al-Habshi emphasized the need for a dedicated curriculum on environmental issues, relevant laws, and preservation methods, along with public engagement in cleaning campaigns supported by civil society organizations.

Hamad Jassim Al-Habshi, the Governor of Jahra,emphasized the crucial role of the Ministry of Education in inspiring Kuwaiti youth and fostering a culture of environmental conservation. He suggested incorporating a dedicated curriculum on environmental issues, related laws, and preservation methods, as well as engaging the public in cleaning campaigns supported by civil society organizations, according to Al Rai newspaper.

In a statement made after his patronage of the Al-Khoisat Beach Cleaning Campaign, organized by the KFO platform to coincide with World Cleaning Day, Al-Habshi affirmed the governorate’s full support for all events and activities aimed at maintaining the cleanliness of the State of Kuwait.

He noted that the beach cleaning campaign seeks to raise awareness among children and youth about the importance of preserving Kuwait’s environment by promoting cleanliness and instilling positive behaviors in the hearts of citizens and residents.

Governor Al-Habshi added that the participation of volunteers and diplomats in the beach cleanup reflects a community commitment to environmental preservation.

He expressed hope that the Ministry of Education will play a significant role in emphasizing the importance of environmental preservation through curriculum materials presented to all age groups. This initiative aims to instill principles and values of patriotism in our children by encouraging their involvement in activities like beach and land cleaning campaigns, fostering a love for maintaining the cleanliness of their homeland’s environment.
