‘Jabriya 1’ reinforces Kuwait’s security readiness, coordination

Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Sabah, the Acting Minister of Defense and Interior, emphasized that the “Jabriya 1” exercise stands as a successful example of cooperation between security, military, and civilian entities, strengthening their readiness to effectively face various challenges, reported Arabic daily Al Qabas.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Defense, this came during Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sabah’s patronage and attendance at the closing ceremony of the “Jabriya 1” exercise on Thursday at Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base.
Led by the Kuwaiti Air Force, the drill included participation from the Ministry of Interior and National Guard as observers, the 25th Commando Brigade, Ministry of Health, Civil Aviation and Kuwait Airways.
The Minister of Defense stressed the importance of enhancing integration and coordination among various state institutions in managing crises and emergency security scenarios, praising the professional performance and high morale of all participants.
He noted that such exercises contribute to raising the level of comprehensive national readiness and reaffirm the state’s commitment to developing its security and defense systems.
He prayed to God Almighty to preserve Kuwait and to perpetuate the blessings of security and stability under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh MeshalAl-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and His Highness the Crown Prince—may God protect and preserve them.
The Minister of Defense began his visit by listening to a briefing by the exercise director, which included a detailed explanation of the exercise’s phases and objectives, the roles and tasks of each participating entity, and the methods and tactics used to ensure the scenario’s success, all in line with the highest standards of professionalism.
Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sabah and the attendees then observed the field exercise unfold, which demonstrated a remarkable level of cohesion among the participating teams and their ability to carry out missions in a realistic operational environment.
For his part, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, Major General Pilot Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, emphasized that the ultimate goal of the exercise is to operate under one banner by promoting the concept of joint teamwork, unifying efforts, and fostering a spirit of cooperation among all state institutions.
He stated that the Jabriya exercise embodies the principles of integration and effective coordination among various agencies and enhances team spirit in managing emergency operations. He praised the commitment and discipline of the participating entities, stressing that organized teamwork is the most effective way to enhance overall preparedness.
The Jabriya exercise aims to raise the efficiency and performance of participating agencies by strengthening the concepts of command, control, and communication in crisis management. It also seeks to test and develop existing procedures and achieve maximum operational readiness in a scenario that simulates real-life conditions. The exercise involved a simulated hijacking and the successful release of hostages.
The drill was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Mishal Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the National Guard Lieutenant General Engineer Hashem Al-Rifai, and Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Special Security Affairs Major General Abdullah Al-Mulla.
Also in attendance were the Chief of the Kuwait Fire Force, Major General Talal Al-Roumi; Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi; President of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Hamoud Al-Sabah; and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Airways, Captain Abdulmohsen Al-Faqan.
