“Italian Ambassador” advocates sharing Italian culture with Kuwaitis to strengthen bilateral ties
“Today we celebrate the opening of the 10-day ‘Journey to Italian Creativity’ festival, organized by the Italian Embassy in collaboration with other Italian institutions and private actors, and with the support of prominent Kuwaiti partners, including the American University of Kuwait” said the Italian Ambassador to Kuwait, H. E. Lorenzo Morini, expressing his gratitude to the American University of Kuwait, for hosting this wonderful event.
Lorenzo added in his speech during the Philharmonic Classical Music Concert held by the Embassy, as part of the ‘Journey to Italian Creativity’ Festival, where the festival showcases some aspects of Italian excellence in art, music, design, fashion, jewelry and cuisine in an innovative environment, pointing out his belief in the importance of conveying, Italian culture to all Kuwaitis, and showing all the elements that create and nourish the strong ties existing between the two, friendly peoples.
“I feel very proud and honoured this evening to open the festival with a very special show, a wonderful concert, a true journey into the masterpieces of Italian classical music and musical creativity,” Lorenzo said.
The Chamber Orchestra ‘I Filarmonici di Roma’ represents one of the most important and innovative experiments in Italian classical music.
Founded in 1976, the ensemble has been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike since the beginning, playing under the direction and in collaboration with some of the world’s most famous artists.
The ‘Filarmonici di Roma’ performs a wide repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary music, and can play in different formations.
Furthermore, it has frequently participated in humanitarian initiatives promoted by the United Nations, the Italian Red Cross and the Cancer Research Association.
