IT spending in Middle East and MENA to reach $230.7 billion

Gartner’s latest forecast indicates that IT spending in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region will reach $230.7 billion in 2025, marking a 7.4% increase from 2024.

The forecast highlights that key drivers such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud technologies will significantly boost data center systems spending in the region in the coming year.

Gartner indicated that data center systems in the MENA region will continue to grow annually by 14.9% through 2025. The forecast also expects software spending in the region to rise by 13.7% in the coming year, driven by increased investments from Chief Information Officers (CIOs) in applications enhanced by generative AI.

Furthermore, Gartner explained that CIOs in the MENA region will increase spending on the combined capabilities of generative artificial intelligence applications, cloud services, and cybersecurity software.

These investments aim to enhance digital workplaces, improve customer experience, and elevate product and service quality. Additionally, they are focused on accelerating secure innovation and gaining competitive advantages in the market.

Interestingly, CIOs starting in 2025, will adopt a more focused approach to generative AI projects, building on the lessons learned from their initial pilots. This shift is driven by a deeper understanding of the complexities involved.

Gartner’s IT spending forecast methodology is based on rigorous analysis of sales data from over 1,000 vendors offering a wide range of IT products and services.

Additionally, Gartner employs primary research techniques, supplemented by secondary research resources, to create a comprehensive database that supports its market forecasts.
