ISIS member gets life for role in burning Jordanian Pilot alive

A Stockholm District Court on Thursday sentenced a Swedish ISIS member to life imprisonment for his involvement in the horrific burning to death of Jordanian pilot Muath al-Kasasbeh in Syria nearly a decade ago.
The court found the man guilty of committing serious war crimes and acts of terrorism after it was proven that he took part in the execution of al-Kasasbeh, who was captured by ISIS in December 2014 and later burned alive inside a cage in one of the group’s most gruesome propaganda videos.
The ruling marks a significant moment in the international pursuit of justice for ISIS atrocities, with the court stressing the severity and brutality of the crime.
Al-Kasasbeh’s death had drawn global outrage and was widely condemned as a war crime. The conviction highlights Sweden’s commitment to prosecuting individuals involved in crimes against humanity, even when committed abroad.
