Iraqi envoy praises Kuwaiti support for ‘Arbaeen’ pilgrimage

Iraqi Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Al-Manhal Hussain Al-Safi, commended the Ministry of Interior, particularly the Ports and Borders Security Department, for the efforts in facilitating the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

This support includes providing buses and tents to serve pilgrims traveling to Iraq for the religious commemoration.

Al-Safi said that preparations are underway to increase the number of buses to accommodate visitors not only from Kuwait but also from Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, reports Al-Rai daily.

He emphasized that coordination with the relevant authorities is progressing smoothly, resulting in strong cooperation to ensure transportation and temporary accommodation at border crossing points.

The Iraqi embassy in Kuwait issued 3,000 visas over the past weekend alone — Friday and Saturday — with a daily rate of approximately 1,500. This number is expected to rise as the pilgrimage date on August 15 approaches.

Al-Safi reassured that the embassy remains committed to easing visa procedures and offering guidance to all pilgrims. He also urged visitors to comply with security directives and regulatory measures to guarantee smooth travel and the safety of all participants.
