Iraqi authorities urge caution amid false reports of border incident

The Iraqi Ministry of Interior today firmly denied reports circulating on social media claiming that Kuwaiti border guards opened fire on a group of Iraqi youths near the border, resulting in casualties.

In a statement issued to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the ministry clarified that such allegations are false. “The Iraqi-Kuwaiti border is stable and secure, and no such incidents have taken place,” the statement emphasized.

The ministry urged the public and media outlets to exercise caution and avoid spreading unverified information. It also called on social media users to rely on official sources when reporting on security matters to prevent the spread of misinformation and rumors.
