Iran warns U.S. of ‘severe consequences’ after strikes on nuclear sites

Tehran issued a stark warning to Washington today, threatening “severe consequences” following unprecedented U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The threat came as the war between Iran and Israel entered its eleventh day, escalating fears of a wider regional conflict.
Iranian Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier-General Ebrahim Zolfaghari, in a televised statement, condemned the U.S. strikes as an “aggressive action” that would expand the range of Iran’s legitimate military targets and “pave the way for the expansion of war in the region.”
Speaking with defiance, Zolfaghari said, “The fighters of Islam will inflict unforeseeable and severe consequences upon you with powerful and targeted operations.” He ended his address in English with a direct warning to U.S. President Donald Trump, stating, “Mr. Trump, the gambler, you may start this war, but we will finish it.”
The remarks come amid rising tensions in the region, with both Iran and Israel trading strikes and threats, and the U.S. becoming increasingly drawn into the confrontation, reports Al-Jarida daily.
