U.S. President Donald Trump addressing Iran’s nuclear ambitions, stated today that Tehran has refused to allow inspections of its nuclear facilities or halt uranium enrichment.
However, he added, “I believe that Iran’s nuclear program has suffered a permanent setback, although Tehran may resume it at a different location.”
Trump also confirmed he plans to discuss the Iranian issue with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his upcoming visit to the White House on Monday, according to news reports.
Meanwhile, Trump said it was a good sign that the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) has responded ‘positively’ to a U.S.-brokered proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump noted that a ceasefire deal could potentially be reached this week, though he had not yet received an update on the current status of negotiations.
