Iran signals openness to ‘fair and balanced’ nuclear deal, defends sovereignty

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi affirmed on Wednesday that Tehran prefers diplomacy and remains open to reaching what he described as a “fair and balanced” agreement regarding its nuclear program.

In a post on the X platform, Araqchi stated that an agreement on Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities is possible, provided it respects mutual fairness, while stressing that Iran “will defend its sovereignty at any cost.”

He expressed hope that dialogue would prevail over conflict and that the upcoming Iranian year, beginning March 21, would usher in peace and stability.

His remarks came as US President Donald Trump reiterated from the White House his commitment to negotiations with Iran following talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has been urging Washington to consider military action against Tehran.
