In a significant escalation of regional tensions, Iranian state television announced today that the Islamic Republic has launched 30 missiles toward Israel, marking what it called the 20th wave of “Operation True Promise 3.”
The missile barrage follows U.S. airstrikes earlier in the day targeting Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
According to a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the missiles were directed at Ben Gurion Airport, a biological research center, and several command-and-control bases located within the Israeli-occupied territories.
The IRGC emphasized that this operation utilized a combination of long-range missiles powered by both liquid and solid fuel, fitted with highly destructive warheads and designed to evade Israeli air defenses.
The Mehr News Agency reported that Iran deployed the Khaybar missile for the first time during this wave, signifying a notable evolution in Iran’s missile capabilities.
Meanwhile, concerns over possible nuclear fallout from the earlier U.S. strikes have been allayed.
Iran’s National Nuclear Safety Center confirmed that no radioactive contamination has been detected around the targeted nuclear sites.
Similarly, Saudi Arabia’s Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission stated that no radioactive effects have been observed in the Kingdom or across other Gulf states.
This exchange marks a dangerous escalation in the Middle East, raising alarms over the potential for broader conflict and regional destabilization.
