International forces join Kuwait in ‘Sky Shield 2025’ military exercise
Drills are designed to elevate the proficiency of Air Defense Forces personnel, develop combat capabilities, unify operational concepts, and reinforce military integration through structured joint training.

The joint military exercise “Sky Shield 2025” concluded Tuesday morning. The large-scale drill was conducted by the Kuwaiti Air Defense Force and the Air Force, with participation from the Air Missile Defense Force of the Bahrain Defense Force, the US Army, and the British military mission.
The exercise was held under the patronage and in the presence of the Minister of Defense, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah,

Upon his arrival, the Minister was received by the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Khaled Daraj Saad Al-Shuraian, who delivered a detailed briefing on the stages of the exercise.
The presentation highlighted the high level of coordination achieved among participating units and their ability to operate effectively within a multi-force environment using modern air defense concepts.

The exercise included live-fire demonstrations of air defense systems, showcasing advanced targeting accuracy, professional execution, and seamless coordination between the participating forces.
These activities aim to enhance operational readiness, exchange expertise, and further strengthen tactical and strategic capabilities.

“Sky Shield 2025” forms part of the Kuwaiti Army’s scheduled joint training programs with allied and friendly nations.

The Minister of Defense emphasized the continued development of Kuwait’s defense system—both human and technical—underscoring the vital importance of upgrading air defense capabilities to safeguard national airspace and support regional stability.
He praised the “fruitful cooperation” with participating forces, reflecting the strength and value of Kuwait’s military partnerships.
He added that the exercise represents a practical model of continuous improvement in combat readiness, highlighting the high professionalism and precision displayed throughout all phases of the drill.
The Minister expressed appreciation for the efforts of all participants who contributed to the success of the exercise.
The closing ceremony was attended by senior military and diplomatic figures, including the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Meshaal Al-Sabah; Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Pilot Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah; Commander of the Qatari Amiri Air Defense Forces, Major General Engineer Mohammed Mubarak Al-Shahwani; Deputy Commander of the US Central Command, Major General Son Salen; Commander of the Air and Missile Defense of the Bahrain Defense Force, Brigadier General Abdullah Mohammed Al-Nuaimi; US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Steven Butler; Head of the British Military Mission, Brigadier General Shay Marks; and a number of senior army leaders.
