Interior Undersecretary, Army Chief review development of maritime border protection

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahib, received the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Shuraian, and his accompanying delegation during a visit to the Sabah Al-Ahmad Coast Guard Base.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Interior said the delegation was briefed on a visual presentation highlighting the key stages of development achieved by the General Directorate of Coast Guard.
The presentation reviewed the introduction of advanced systems and modern technologies aimed at strengthening capabilities to protect and secure maritime borders and monitor territorial waters, thereby enhancing the efficiency and operational readiness of Coast Guard personnel, reports Al-Rai daily.
The delegation also conducted a field tour of the base, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Interior. The tour included a visit to the base’s facilities, the maritime surveillance operations room, the control room for unmanned boats, and an inspection of a number of advanced field systems and equipment.
The Ministry noted that the visit reflects the high level of integration and ongoing cooperation between military institutions within the framework of the unified security system, aimed at safeguarding the country’s borders and preserving its security and stability.
The reception was attended by the Head of the Border Security and Coast Guard Affairs Sector, Major General Majbel Bin Shawq; the Director General of the General Directorate of Coast Guard, Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Al-Sabah; and a number of senior military leaders.
