“Interior Ministry” refers gang to “Public Prosecution” on human trafficking charges
According to the instructions and directives from the Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior, H. E. Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef on the necessity of intensifying search and investigation operations to uncover any illegal activities, and combat them with all firmness; the General Department of Residence Affairs Investigations, represented by the Search and Investigation Department, was able to arrest five people on charges of human trafficking.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, the accused cooperated with citizens to bring workers under their sponsorship, in exchange for sums of money ranging from 800 to 1300 Kuwaiti dinars, per person.
The Ministry of Interior affirmed its full commitment in applying the law to everyone without exception, and that security personnel are on the lookout for anyone who dares to violate the laws.
It was also noted by the Ministry that all necessary legal measures have been taken against the accused and they have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
