Interior Ministry outlines updated family, commercial, and government visa categories
Kinship proof, entry options detailed in revised Kuwait visa regulations

During a presentation at the Government Communication Center, Colonel Abdulaziz Al-Kandari from the Ministry of Interior’s Residency Affairs Sector outlined the updated requirements for obtaining a family visit visa in Kuwait.
The new regulations abolish the salary requirement and expand eligibility to include relatives up to the fourth degree by blood and the third degree by marriage, beyond the traditional scope of spouses and children.
Applicants must present proof of kinship in Arabic or a certified Arabic translation, issued by an accredited translation office.
The acceptable documents include marriage contracts or birth certificates verifying the relationship.
Al-Kandari explained that family visit visas now fall into two categories:
Single entry — valid for one, two, or three months, with a stay of up to 30 days.
Multiple entry — valid for three, six, or twelve months, with a maximum stay of 30 days per visit.
He also reviewed rules for commercial visit visas, issued for business purposes at the invitation of a civil authority, institution, or company.
These can be single entry for one month (valid for 30 days) or multiple entry for up to one year (with each stay limited to 30 days).
Regarding government visit visas, Al-Kandari noted that no special requirements apply —government agencies determine the need for such visits.
These visas may be issued as single entry for up to three months, or multiple entry for up to one year, with each stay capped at 30 days.
