Interior Ministry arrests 638 people during ongoing nationwide security campaigns

The Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that it had carried out a series of intensive security campaigns across all governorates as part of its ongoing efforts to preserve security, enforce the law, and apprehend wanted individuals.
The campaigns were conducted under the supervision of Major General Hamad Al-Munifi, head of the Security Directorates Affairs Sector, reports Al-Qabas daily.
According to a press release, the operations resulted in the arrest of 638 people for various offenses, including criminal cases, residency violations, and traffic infractions.
Among those detained were 46 individuals wanted for criminal, financial, or immigration-related cases, in addition to 26 violators of residency laws and 19 persons who failed to present valid identification.
The campaigns also led to the registration of 16 drug-related cases and the arrest of nine illegal workers. The authorities confiscated one vehicle during the raids, while 13 cases involving intoxicants and alcohol were recorded. Security teams further seized eight vehicles sought under judicial orders.
In the course of the operations, 17 cases of expired residency permits were uncovered. Two individuals were arrested on charges of intoxication, while two others were taken in for suspected abnormal behavior.
Police also detained one individual for admission to a psychiatric hospital, recorded two cases of gambling, and arrested one juvenile for driving without a license.
Additionally, a street vendor was taken into custody for operating illegally. On the roads, traffic patrols issued 481 citations for various violations, reflecting the ministry’s parallel focus on public safety in transportation.
The Ministry of Interior stressed that it will continue its intensive security campaigns across all governorates, warning that legal measures will be strictly enforced against anyone who violates the law. It reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the security and stability of the country and ensuring the safety of citizens and residents alike.
