Integrity Commission refers ex-education official to Public Prosecution

The General Authority for Combating Corruption has announced the referral of a former official from the Ministry of Education, along with others, to the Public Prosecution. This referral follows allegations of committing crimes related to the protection of public funds under Law No. 1/1993, as well as suspected forgery under Article (257) of the Penal Code No. (16) of 1960. Additionally, the individuals are accused of corruption-related offenses as outlined in Article (22) of Law No. 2 of 2016, which established the General Authority for Combating Corruption.
The Authority reiterated its commitment to ongoing efforts in examining, gathering evidence, and investigating all credible and fully compliant information submitted to it.
Moreover, the Authority emphasized its appreciation for the vital role played by whistleblowers in helping uncover crucial information and data in corruption cases. It also assured that it will continue to provide whistleblowers with the highest levels of protection and confidentiality, in accordance with the law and executive regulations.
