Information Ministry prepares for strategic shift in 2026–2030 plan

Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, announced that the strategy of the Ministry of Information during 2026–2030 will build on past accomplishments and reflect the directives of Kuwait’s political leadership and national development plan.
In a statement released by the Ministry following a meeting with senior ministry officials and the strategy development team — attended by Undersecretary Dr. Nasser Muhaisen — Al-Mutairi emphasized the ministry’s participatory approach in shaping the new vision, which is set to launch officially on April 1, 2026, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Mutairi noted that the tangible progress achieved under the current 2021–2026 strategy, especially in the media sector, laid a strong foundation for this next stage. “The new strategy marks a transition from challenges to opportunities,” he said, “with an integrated vision and a practical, measurable roadmap.”
The strategy’s development methodology is structured into four key phases — identifying future directions based on in-depth research and studies.; defining measurable goals and performance indicators; designing executable strategic initiatives and developing operational plans and timelines for effective implementation.
He also revealed that the next phase of development will involve extensive dialogue with ministry staff and external partners, including the private sector, civil society organizations, and the general public. The working group comprises both male and female staff members selected from within the ministry, continuing the inclusive model established with the previous strategy.
Al-Mutairi concluded by underscoring the importance of coordination across all ministry sectors and praised the strategic planning team for its collaborative spirit and commitment to involving all stakeholders in shaping Kuwait’s future media direction.
