Indonesia’s Iftar reception fosters unity, dialogue among diplomats

During the reception Her Excellency Lena Maryana, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Kuwait, delivered her remarks, highlighting Indonesia’s Ramadan customs and the longstanding relations between Indonesia and Kuwait.

The Iftar reception hosted by the Indonesian embassy served as a bridge for strengthening diplomatic relations, providing a space for heads of missions and dignitaries to engage in meaningful discussions.

The Indonesian Embassy in Kuwait hosted an exclusive Iftar reception, bringing together heads of missions and senior Kuwaiti officials for an evening of tradition, diplomacy, and Ramadan spirit, fostering dialogue while showcasing Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.

The evening opened with a Tilawah Al-Qur’an (recitation of the Holy Qur’an) and prayer, setting a reflective and spiritual tone for the gathering. Following the recitation, Her Excellency Lena Maryana, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Kuwait, delivered her remarks, highlighting Indonesia’s Ramadan customs and the longstanding relations between Indonesia and Kuwait.

As the Adhan for Maghrib was heard, guests broke their fast with an array of traditional Indonesian takjil before proceeding to prayer. The evening continued with a culinary experience showcasing Indonesia’s rich gastronomy, featuring Soto Ayam, a fragrant chicken soup with a turmeric-infused broth; Bakso, savory beef meatballs served in a flavorful broth; Nasi Goreng, Indonesia’s renowned fried rice enriched with a blend of spices; Sate Ayam, marinated grilled chicken skewers served with a creamy peanut sauce; and Rendang Daging, a slow-cooked beef dish infused with aromatic spices.

More than just a meal, the Iftar reception served as a bridge for strengthening diplomatic relations, providing a space for heads of missions and dignitaries to engage in meaningful discussions while experiencing the warmth of Indonesian hospitality. The Embassy of Indonesia expressed its sincere appreciation to all distinguished guests for their presence and participation, wishing them a blessed and peaceful Ramadan.
