National Day 2026

Indonesia Congratulates Kuwait on National and Liberation Days

On the auspicious occasion of the 65th anniversary of National Day and the 35th anniversary of Liberation Day, I have the distinct honor, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, to convey my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait; His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, Crown Prince; His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Prime Minister; His Excellency Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs; as well as to the Government and the people of the State of Kuwait.

In 2025, I noted Kuwait’s successful chairmanship of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which further enhanced the GCC’s regional and international standing as a pillar of security, stability, and prosperity. Kuwait has also continued to play a significant role both regionally and globally, including through its humanitarian assistance to countries affected by disasters, conflicts, and wars. Kuwait’s aid has been greatly felt by the people affected by these situations.

And as always, Kuwait’s principled leadership and generosity have earned the deep respect of the international community. Regarding bilateral relations, we are exploring the possibility of holding our first political consultation in Indonesia in 2026, which we believe will further institutionalize and elevate our bilateral dialogue. Indonesia also remains committed to deepening cooperation with Kuwait in multilateral fora, including within the framework of ASEAN–GCC relations, reflecting our shared interest in promoting regional stability, economic growth, and constructive global engagement.

Earlier this year, from 16 to 22 January 2026, a delegation of top-ranked high school students from Kuwait, together with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), conducted an educational visit and cultural immersion program in Indonesia, with destinations in Bandung and Jakarta. The visit, initiated by KFAED and supported by the Embassy of Indonesia, formed part of our joint efforts to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of economy, culture, education, and human resource development.

The vibrant Indonesian community in Kuwait continues to serve as a living bridge of friendship between our two nations. Through their dedication, professionalism, and respect for Kuwaiti values and laws, they contribute positively to Kuwait’s development while strengthening the bonds of mutual understanding between our peoples.

In this blessed and holy month of Ramadan, allow me to extend my warmest wishes and sincere congratulations to the Amir, His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, and to all Kuwaiti friends who observe the holy month. May Allah the Almighty accept our good deeds, grant us continued health and prosperity, and bless the State of Kuwait with enduring peace, unity, and progress.

Ramadan Kareem.
