Indonesia and Kuwait seal deal to recruit skilled labor

HE Lena Mariana, Indonesia’s Ambassador to Kuwait,announced the completion of an MoU between the two nations to hire skilled labor, particularly in the health sector, highlighting Indonesia’s wealth of professionals.

H. E. Lena Mariana, Indonesia’s Ambassador toKuwait, highlighted the growing trade of medical vaccines, food, and electronics, emphasizing its role in strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in food security.

The Indonesian ambassador said discussions are ongoing to resume direct flights between Jakarta and Kuwait via Kuwait Airways on a daily basis, following their suspension in 2015.

Lena Mariana, Indonesias Ambassador to the country, announced the completion of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Kuwait and Indonesia on recruiting skilled labor, particularly in the health sector, highlighting Indonesias abundance of skilled professionals, as reported by Al Qabas newspaper.

She pointed out in a statement to journalists on the sidelines of the annual festival held by the embassy, titled The Winter Market, that relations between her country and Kuwait are rapidly developing. The number of members of the Indonesian community has risen to 7,000 this year, compared to 6,000 last year, with most working in the hospitality and health sectors.

Ambassador Mariana also revealed that Indonesia currently exports medical vaccines, as well as food and electronics, to Kuwait, which are widely available in Kuwaiti markets. This trade is one of the promising areas of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of food security.

The Indonesian ambassador mentioned ongoing discussions to restart direct flights between Jakarta and Kuwait via Kuwait Airways on a daily basis, following their suspension in 2015.

She also stated that the Indonesian embassy holds the Winter Market festival every year to bring the community together in one place, with the presence of heads of diplomatic missions and a large number of Kuwaiti friends.
