Indian Doctors Forum, Kuwait organize Sports Day
Indian Doctors Forum, Kuwait is one of the elite Indian organisations in Kuwait. Presently it is comprising of more than 650 doctors of all specialities.
Indian Doctors Forum observed its Sports Day on the auspicious occasion of Indian Republic Day (26th January) at Wafra. There was a huge turn up of the Doctors and their families. The event started with the welcome address by the President Dr Diwakara Chaluvaiah followed by the National Anthem of India and Kuwait. All the participants irrespective of age group played under the banner of four houses having four different colours, – Blue, Green, Orange and Yellow – named after ancient methodology of Indian Medicine – Charaka, Sushruta, Dhanwantari and Arogya. The captains of the houses, Dr Asit Mohanty, Dr Sateesh Tadepalli, Dr Antony Decruz and Dr Naquib Inamdar had an inaugural relay lap with the Sports Day Torch around the sporting arena. Finally, they assembled at the starting point where the President lit the Inaugural flame. This was a unique Olympian experience by all who witnessed.
There were plenty of kids’ games, games of teen age and also for the adult age category. There were group events like Volleyball, Dogs and bones and Tug of War etc. The event was anchored brilliantly by Rachna and her team. She was ably supported by all the Office Bearers who worked relentlessly to make the event candid and colourful. Attractive prizes were distributed and the whole event was conducted in a jubilant sporting spirit.
The meritorious students of doctors’ families who came out with outstanding results in Tenth and Twelfth standard Examination in the years 2022 and 2023 were awarded with Certificates of Merit and gifts at the venue.
The students participating in Shastrotsav 2023, the theme of which was based on Basic Life Support (BLS), were also awarded with Certificates and medals.
Two senior doctors -Dr Mrinmay Kumar Mallik and Dr Sanjay Thuruthel who had been in prolonged close active association with Indian Doctors Forum were felicitated as they are going to leave Kuwait for good.
Everybody was in a bright mood in a pleasant weather with the sun playing hide and seek behind the clouds. Indian Doctors Forum promises to conduct more such colourful events in the days to come.
