Indian ambassador hosts glittering Ramadan Ghabqa

  • The Indian ambassador’s Ramadan Ghabqa was well attended by Kuwaiti dignitaries, including ministers, senior government officials, as well as ambassadors and members of the Indian community.

His Excellency Dr. Adarsh Swaika, the ambassador of India to Kuwait, hosted a ‘Ramadan Ghabqa’ at India House on March 27, to celebrate the festive spirit of the holy month of Ramadan with friends of India in Kuwait, including members of the diplomatic corps and the Indian community. On this occasion, the ambassador conveyed heartfelt Ramadan Mubarak greetings to all attendees and well-wishers in Kuwait.

The event showcased an exquisite blend of Indian culture, music, and cuisine. Musicians performed Indian classical music on sitar, tabla, and flute, creating a special atmosphere. The event also featured an eclectic menu of Indian dishes popular during the Ramadan month in India, including biryani, sewai, jalebi, and more.

Ramadan holds special significance in India, a country with a rich tapestry of diverse religions and cultures, and home to the world’s second-largest Muslim population. It is celebrated throughout India with streets adorned with lights, mouth-watering delicacies being sold, and people of all faiths exchanging greetings with one another.

The month of Ramadan showcases the vibrant mosaic of India, highlighting India’s ethos of unity in diversity, where individuals from varied socio-cultural and religious backgrounds coexist harmoniously. In Kuwait, the tradition of hosting ‘Ghabqa’ during Ramadan is also observed by several Indian community associations, reflecting the deep cultural and people-to-people ties.
