IMA Kuwait’s Eid event promotes harmony and understanding

The Interfaith Eid Get-Together brought together esteemed presidents of leading Indian associations, dignitaries, prominent personalities in Kuwait, and special guests and invitees from the IMA community.

The Eid Get-Together holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for the Muslim community, marking the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan and served as a meaningful opportunity to foster unity, and celebrate the values of compassion and togetherness.

The Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait successfully hosted its Interfaith Eid Get-Together under the theme ‘Celebrate Eid, A Day of Togetherness’. The event brought together esteemed presidents of leading Indian associations, dignitaries, prominent personalities in Kuwait, and special guests and invitees from the IMA community.

Held on April 1 at the Kuwait Teachers’ Society Auditorium in Dasma, the event drew hundreds of attendees and their families, who enjoyed a memorable evening filled with togetherness and community spirit.

The Eid Get-Together holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for the Muslim community, marking the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan. The event served as a meaningful opportunity to foster unity, promote mutual understanding, and celebrate the values of compassion and togetherness.

The evening featured thought-provoking and immersive discourses, highlighted by a captivating keynote speech delivered by Mr. Nisar Ahmad on the topic ‘Establishing a Just Society’. His address deeply resonated with the audience and kept them engaged throughout the session.

Addressing the audience, Mr. Nisar Ahmad emphasized that justice forms the cornerstone of a balanced and ethical society, grounded in fairness, equality, human dignity, and accountability. He explained that Islamic justice is deeply rooted in the teachings of the Quran and the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), advocating for essential rights such as life, religious freedom, education, and economic welfare. He also highlighted the importance of social and economic justice, stressing charity, fair governance, and an impartial legal system. Mr. Ahmad noted that while striving for justice in this world is vital, ultimate justice will be delivered in the hereafter, where every action will be judged with absolute fairness by the Creator.

The event also featured a Model Exhibition on ‘Quran and Science’, covering key Islamic themes including Social Justice, Economy in Islam, Oneness of God, Prophethood, and the Hereafter. Organized by the IMA Children’s Circle and IMA Ladies Wing, the exhibition showcased interactive models presented by young participants, offering attendees a rich and engaging learning experience.

IMA President Mr. Mohammed Umar Falahi honored distinguished guests with floral bouquets in appreciation of their contributions to human welfare, art, culture, and sports. Guests expressed gratitude and praised the event’s role in fostering interfaith harmony and mutual respect.

Prominent dignitaries and association presidents who graced the event included Mr. Ahmed Mutlaq Al-Azmi, Head of the Department of Islam Propagation, Ministry of Awqaf; Mr. Suresh K. P., Honorary Secretary of the Indian Business & Professional Council, Kuwait; Fr. James Tuscano, Principal of Indian English Academy (Don Bosco); and Mr. Shankar Shetty, President of Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK).

Also in attendance were Mr. Prasanth Warrier, President of the Progressive Professional Forum (PPF) Kuwait; Mr. Nitin Prabhakar, President of Maurya Kala Parisar (MKP) Kuwait; Mr. Pradhan Lushkari Ram, Founder President of the Satguru Ravidaas Welfare Society; Mr. Raja G., President of the Tamilnadu Engineers Forum (TEF) Kuwait; Mr. Ramesh Kediyoor, Founder President of the Mogaveera Association Kuwait; and Mr. Mathew Joseph, President of the Kerala Art Lovers Association (KALA) Kuwait.

Interactive quiz and community engagement

Following the speeches, an engaging interactive quiz session was conducted by Mr. Osaib Ahmed. The audience participated enthusiastically, making it a fun and informative segment. Winners were rewarded with attractive gifts.

An open Q&A session followed, where Mr. Nisar Ahmad, Mr. Umar Falahi, and Mr. Waleed Umri addressed audience queries, sparking meaningful discussions on Islamic and social topics.

The event began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Mr. Munawar Hussain and was convened by Mr. FaiyazAhmed. It concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. Mirza Tanvir Beg, followed by a sumptuous dinner, where attendees enjoyed a warm community meal.

As a gesture of goodwill, a book stall offering free Islamic books and Quran translations in various languages was set up. Guests eagerly collected these valuable resources, reinforcing the spirit of knowledge-sharing and community engagement.

IMA Kuwait expressed sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for its support, KTV2 for its media coverage, and all speakers, guests, and dignitaries for making the event a success. Operating under the Ministry’s patronage, IMA remains committed to serving the Indian expatriate community in Kuwait.
