IMA Kuwait organizes ‘Message of Hijrah’ programs across Kuwait

Under the esteemed patronage of the Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs – Foreign Relations Department, the Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait organized a series of impactful public programs titled ‘Message of Hijrah’ across its various units in Kuwait.
These events were held to commemorate the Islamic New Year and the profound historical event of Hijrah — the migration of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Makkah to Madinah — and to reflect on the timeless lessons this vital moment offers for individuals and society.
In collaboration with the English Unit, IMA Salmiya Unit 1 & 2 conducted a highly engaging Urdu-language program at Masjid Hayya Ibrahim, Salmiya. The keynote speaker, Janab Masood Shahab Sahab, eloquently explained the historical and spiritual significance of Hijrah, emphasizing powerful lessons in sacrifice, strategic planning, patience, and unwavering faith in Allah (SWT).
On Thursday, 26th June 2025, the Abu Halifa Unit in coordination with the Youth Wing – Fahaheel Zone organized an Urdu-language event at Masjid Mariyam, Mahboula, following Isha prayers. Respected speaker and former IMA President, Shamvil Parvez Sahab addressed the audience, highlighting the broader significance of Hijrah — not only as a physical migration but as a spiritual journey: from falsehood to truth, injustice to justice, and darkness to light.
Simultaneously on the same evening, the City Unit of IMA Kuwait hosted a well-attended program at Deewaniya, Kaza Bella Saloon, Reggae, featuring renowned speaker and Khateeb Nisar Ahmed Sahab.
He spoke on the moral and ethical transformation represented by Hijrah, noting that the migration of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ reflects enduring principles such as strategic planning, teamwork, and reliance on Allah—values that remain deeply relevant today.
The Farwaniya Unit of IMA Kuwait organized a grassroots-level public event in Farwaniya on the same day. Speaker Dawood Absami focused on the inner dimensions of Hijrah, explaining that true Hijrah today means not just geographical relocation but inner spiritual transformation. He cited the Qur’anic verse: “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (Surah Ar-Ra’d, 13:11)
Also on 26th June 2025, the Abbasiya & Khaitan Unit of IMA Kuwait hosted a special event titled “Jalsa Youm-e-Hijrah” at Masjid Bilqees, Abbasiya, following Salatul Isha. Masood Shahab Sahab, once again, captivated the audience with his passionate message highlighting Hijrah as a symbol of Divine Purpose, Prophetic Wisdom, and Timeless Courage.
All the above programs were well attended including families, youth, and professionals. Each event concluded with the distribution of dinner packets, and special Q&A sessions were held to engage audiences and explore the contemporary relevance of Hijrah’s teachings.
IMA Kuwait extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Kuwait, for its unwavering support and patronage in facilitating these impactful events.
As an Indian socio-religious organization operating under the Ministry’s patronage, IMA Kuwait remains dedicated to offering spiritual and social enrichment opportunities for expatriates living in Kuwait, particularly the Indian community. Through diverse programs and gatherings, IMA strives to nurture personal growth and community unity.
IMA looks forward to organizing more beneficial programs in the future, aligned with significant occasions and the evolving needs of the community.
