IMA Kuwait honors academic excellence at grand felicitation and career guidance ceremony

The Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait, under the esteemed patronage of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs (Department of Foreign Relations), held its Annual Students’ Felicitation & Career Guidance Ceremony on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Al-Awqaf Auditorium in Reggae. The event celebrated the outstanding academic achievements of Indian students in Kuwait who excelled in their 10th and 12th Grade Board Examinations.
This flagship annual initiative of IMA Kuwait continues to champion academic excellence, educational empowerment, and career guidance for the Indian expatriate youth in Kuwait. The evening drew an enthusiastic audience of students, parents, educators, and dignitaries.
The event commenced with student verification at 4:45 PM, followed by the formal inauguration at 5:30 PM. The gathering was graced by distinguished guests, school principals, and proud families.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Faizy Rahman, Centre In-Charge at the Centre for Training and Academic Guidance (CTAG), New Delhi. Speaking on the theme “Emerging Trends in Education: Pathway to What After 12th Standard,” Mr. Rahman provided valuable insights into modern education systems, global career paths, and critical decision-making strategies for students transitioning to higher education. His address was met with deep appreciation from students and parents alike.
Fr. James Tuscano, Principal of Don Bosco (IEAS) School and Guest of Honor, delivered a heartfelt and inspiring speech. He emphasized the vital role students will play in the future and paid tribute to the sacrifices of parents and teachers, particularly highlighting the silent strength and dedication of mothers. His emotional reflections resonated deeply with the audience, reminding students of the true essence of education: empowerment, gratitude, and purpose.
Mr. Mohammad Ali, Coordinator of the Community Department, Ministry of Islamic Affairs, also honored the event with his presence. He commended the students and lauded IMA’s continued commitment to fostering academic and moral excellence among youth.
The highlight of the evening was the Felicitation Ceremony, where 160 meritorious students were honored. These students were selected through a rigorous evaluation process, with 85% set as the minimum eligibility for consideration. Their results were verified through mark sheets submitted online during the registration phase.
Each awardee received a Certificate of Excellence and a Medal of Appreciation, presented by the event’s distinguished guests. Additionally, the Top 10 students in both Grade X and XII categories received special commemorative mementos recognizing their exceptional performances.
The prestigious “Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Student of the Year” awards were presented to:
- Aniruddh Vimal Shivan (Grade X, ICSK Senior School) – 98.6%
Anam Anwar Kazi (Grade XII, ICSK Senior School) – 98.4%
Their achievements were met with resounding applause, and the emotional pride on the faces of students and their families highlighted the significance of this recognition.
Mr. Mohammad Umar, President of IMA Kuwait, presented mementos to the guests of honor and expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all school principals and parents for their support and participation. He congratulated all awardees and thanked the Organizing Committee, led by Mr. Riyaz Ahmad, for their dedication and hard work in delivering a seamless and impactful event.
The ceremony opened with the Recitation and Translation of the Holy Quran by Master Abdullah Ahmed and was moderated by Mr. Parwez Hanif.
