Illegal plastic factory, carpentry workshop seized at Al-Salmi Stables

The action has prompted the joint tripartite committee of the Council of Ministers to open a file on the stable's violations, with the intention of listing them for punishment and revoking their license.

  • The relevant authorities swiftly took decisive action against Al-Salmi Stables in accordance with their laws and regulations, including cutting off the electricity supply to the property.

The joint tripartite committee of the Council of Ministers has started addressing reports and complaints received against Al-Salmi Stables.

The first investigation involved the seizure of a stable that was illegally used as a plastic factory and carpentry workshop. This action has prompted the committee to open a file on the stable’s violations, with the intention of listing them for punishment and revoking their license.

“Al-Rai” newspaper joined the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department at the Jahra Governorate Municipality Branch, along with the Emergency Team in collaboration with the tripartite committee, in their inaugural campaign the day before yesterday. This action followed several citizen complaints regarding stables in the Salmi area being used for unauthorized purposes.

Explicit violations

After conducting research and investigation, the committee, with the presence of Muhammad Al-Mutairi, Director of the Municipality’s Audit Department, Engineer Al-Thuwaini Al-Mutairi, head of the emergency team, along with immigration investigation officers, representatives from the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the Environment Public Authority, and the Sports Authority, visited the site. Clear violations were uncovered, including the operation of an unauthorized plastic factory and carpentry workshop.

Legal procedures

The municipality team issued a warning pending completion of legal procedures against its owner. The electricity was disconnected by the Ministry of Electricity and Water, residency violators were deported by the police, a violation report was filed by the Environment Public Authority, and a violation was recorded by the Sports Authority.

Accurate follow-up

Zaid Al-Anazi, the representative of the municipality in the committee and head of the emergency team at the Capital Governorate Municipality Branch, emphasized, through Al-Rai, the importance of the General Sports Authority enforcing its existing laws, which include confiscation if the property owner does not comply. This involves rectifying all violations and returning the property to its original state.

He emphasized that there is careful and direct follow-up by the municipality’s senior management on this matter, with strict directives from Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works and Minister of Municipality, and Engineer Saud Al-Dabbous, the General Director. They have stressed the necessity of responding to the reports received.

He explained that the owner of the seized property violated Ministerial Resolution 206/2009 concerning the building system, specifically Article One for building violations and Article 25, Paragraph Four for using the unit for unauthorized purposes, as he converted the stable into a factory.

He confirmed that the relevant authorities took the necessary measures in accordance with their laws and regulations, including cutting off the electricity supply to the property.
