ICAO praises Kuwait for major advancement in global aviation safety rating

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) on Sunday commended the Kuwaiti Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) for achieving a significant milestone: raising Kuwait’s international aviation safety audit rating and strengthening its compliance with global safety standards.

Osman Kimo Manjing, head of the ICAO inspection team, praised the PACA’s extensive efforts during his visit, highlighting the advanced technical capabilities of Kuwaiti inspectors, engineers, and pilots.

He also acknowledged the leadership of PACA Director General Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the contributions of all personnel working in Kuwait’s aviation safety sector.

Acting Director General of the PACA, Duaij Al-Otaibi, told KUNA that the safety team continues to operate at the highest professional levels to advance the nation’s civil aviation system.

He commended the dedication of staff across the civil aviation sector—especially those in aviation safety and security—and attributed the achievement to the support of God Almighty and the country’s political leadership.

Al-Otaibi expressed optimism that ongoing efforts would continue to strengthen preparedness and enhance the implementation of safety and security standards at Kuwait International Airport.

At the conclusion of the visit, the ICAO team leader honored Acting Director General Duaij Al-Otaibi and the PACA safety team for their outstanding work.
