‘ICAI-KC’ successfully hosts badminton tournament

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India – Kuwait Chapter (ICAI-KC) organized a thrilling Badminton Tournament on 26th October 2024, at ‘i Smash Badminton Academy’, Ahmadi, Kuwait.

The ICAI-KC Badminton Tournament, which is open exclusively to members and their families, saw a large turnout of enthusiastic participants. The event featured categories such as; Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Boys’ (8-12 Years), Boys’ (Teen Category), and Girls’ Singles, with trophies awarded to winners and runners-up.

The tournament eagerly commenced with an inauguration ceremony by CA Aditya Dhanuka, Chairman of the ICAI-Kuwait Chapter. Following the opening, CA Jatin Bagaria, Executive Committee Member, warmly welcomed participants and outlined the rules, setting an enthusiastic tone for the day’s competitions.

The competition then got underway, with CA Jatin Bagaria managing the event, with organizing efforts involving CA Joseph Peter and CA Umesh Soni. Moreover, seamless facilitation was ensured with support from additional committee members, which included; CA Dhruv Shah, CA Bhavani Vikram Joshi, CA Kunjumary Ignatious, and CA Sonia Enamakel.

The winners and runners up in each category were as follows:

  • Men’s Doubles Category – Winners were CA Sanjay Mathew Roy and CA Joseph Thomas. Runners up were, CA Sai Devata and CA Ravikiran Prabhakar.
  • Women’s Doubles Category – Winners were, CA Vijaya Ann Joseph & Roshni Gonsalves (w/o CA Rabin Gonsalves). Runners up were, CA Nisha Jalan & Hena Dhruv Shah (w/o CA Dhruv Shah).
  • Boys’ Teen Category – Winners were, Elvis Chacko Mathew (s/o CA Sanjay Mathew Roy). Runners up were, Avyukt Pawan Kumar (s/o CA NP Kumar).
  • Boys’ 8-12 Age Group – Winners were, Elvis Chacko Mathew (s/o CA Sanjay Mathew Roy) Arya Nagar (s/o CA Ravi Nagar). Runners up were, Aaron Thomas (s/o CA Abin Raji Varghese).
  • Girls’ Singles Category – Winners were, Ummekulsoom Mahudhawala (d/o CA Mohammad Mahudhawala). Runners up were, Meera Vikram Joshi (d/o CA Bhavani Vikram Joshi).

As the performances concluded, CA Aditya Dhanuka congratulated all winners and participants, emphasizing that events like these promote sportsmanship and strengthen camaraderie among members and their families.

Moreover, CA Aditya Dhanuka also extended special thanks to the committee members for conducting and managing the tournament smoothly and successfully, and highlighted the joy and enthusiasm that made the event a memorable experience for all attendees.

Furthermore, the prize distribution ceremony was initiated by CA Aditya Dhanuka, with various committee members presenting trophies to the winners. The chapter also expressed gratitude to its annual sponsors, Al Mulla Exchange and NBK, for their continued support.

The tournament concluded on a delightful note with a sweet surprise for attendees. The Chapter presented each participant’s family with a special Diwali gift box of sweets from Mughal Mahal, adding festive joy and warmth to the memorable event.

Affirming its commitment, the ‘ICAI-KC’ stated that more events will be hosted in the future to promote sportsmanship, unity, and a vibrant community spirit among its members. The 2024 Badminton Tournament was another successful step in building and connecting the lively ICAI-KC family in Kuwait.
