The International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors adopted a resolution on Thursday condemning Iran’s “non-compliance” with its nuclear obligations, a fresh warning before referring the case to the United Nations.
The text, drafted by London, Paris, and Berlin and joined by Washington, was supported by 19 of the 35 countries, several diplomatic sources told AFP.
In other news, a spokesman for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said today that Britain is monitoring the situation in the Middle East and that there is no update regarding its staff in the region, after the United States announced the evacuation of some employees due to security concerns.
“The safety of our staff is certainly our top priority, so we are monitoring the situation closely, but I have no updates… regarding any partial or other evacuation of our embassies,” the spokesman told reporters.
Meanwhile, the Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran will rebuild its nuclear facilities if they are destroyed, according to Iran’s state media.
“It’s not true that if they destroy our facilities with bombs, everything will be lost. Those capabilities are in our minds, and therefore, no matter what they do, we will rebuild them,” Pezeshkian added.
