Historic step as Kuwaiti women eligible for court session secretary role

Minister of Justice, Counselor Nasser Yousef Al-Sumait, has issued a decision to open applications for the position of court session secretary to women, marking the first time this role has been made available to female employees.
The minister said the decision aims to expand the base of national competencies and benefit from qualified female capabilities in a manner that supports the smooth conduct of court sessions and raises overall performance efficiency within the judiciary, in line with approved regulations, reports Al-Rai daily.
He noted that the move complements ongoing efforts to integrate female talents into various administrative and technical positions across the courts, emphasizing the Ministry of Justice’s commitment to implementing continuous training and qualification programs to enhance the quality of judicial services.
Applications will open tomorrow, Monday, December 29, and will continue until January 8. The opportunity is open to female employees working in the Court of First Instance, the Court of Appeal, the Family Court at the Court of First Instance, and the Family Court at the Court of Appeal.
Successful applicants will be enrolled in a specialized training course at the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, as part of preparations to assume their new duties and contribute effectively to the development of court operations.
