His Highness Crown Prince holds official talks with Japanese Prime Minister in Tokyo

His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled held an official meeting this afternoon with the Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo. The meeting was preceded by a formal reception that featured a military parade and the playing of the national anthems of Kuwait and Japan.

During the talks, His Highness the Crown Prince led the Kuwaiti delegation, while Prime Minister Ishiba headed the Japanese side. His Highness expressed deep appreciation for the warm welcome and extended greetings from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to Japan and its people, along with wishes for continued prosperity and development, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Crown Prince reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and elevating them to the level of a strategic partnership.

He recalled the long-standing historical relationship between the two nations, which began in 1958 through cooperation in oil exploration with the Arabian Oil Company. He also expressed Kuwait’s lasting gratitude for Japan’s support during the 1990 Iraqi invasion.

Prime Minister Ishiba welcomed the Crown Prince’s visit, praising the enduring friendship and cooperation between Kuwait and Japan. He also voiced hope for advancing ties to broader horizons and enhancing strategic collaboration between the two nations.

The meeting included discussions on key regional and international developments, where both sides exchanged views and noted a strong alignment in their perspectives. The talks concluded with both leaders expressing mutual interest in further strengthening their countries’ partnership.

The meeting was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Crown Prince.
