HH the Amir receives President of the Swiss Confederation in presence of HH Crown Prince and HH Prime Minister
Kuwait and Switzerland expands cooperation towards broader horizons
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received His Excellency President Guy Parmelin of the Swiss Confederation at Bayan Palace this morning, on the occasion of his official visit to the country.
The meeting was also attended by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister.
An official welcoming ceremony was held, beginning with the playing of the national anthems of both countries. His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah then greeted the members of the official delegation accompanying His Excellency, who in turn greeted senior Kuwaiti officials.
Official talks were then held between the State of Kuwait and the Swiss Confederation, with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah leading the Kuwaiti delegation and His Excellency President Guy Parmelin leading the Swiss delegation.
The meeting was also attended by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister, and senior officials from both countries.
His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs, stated that the discussions between the two sides addressed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, and ways to support and develop them in various fields.
They also discussed expanding the frameworks of cooperation between the State of Kuwait and the friendly Swiss Confederation to broader horizons, serving their common interests. Furthermore, they discussed the most important issues of mutual concern, the latest developments on the regional and international scenes, and exchanged views on them.
The discussions were held in a cordial atmosphere, reflecting the spirit of understanding and friendship that characterizes the strong relations between the two friendly countries, in a step that embodies the desire of both sides to strengthen their existing cooperation at all levels.
A luncheon was also held in honor of His Excellency President Guy Parmelin, President of the friendly Swiss Confederation, and the official delegation accompanying him, on the occasion of his official visit to the country.
