HH the Amir hails GCC cooperation, urges continued regional stability and integration

His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has successfully navigated complex regional and international challenges through unity, collective security, and a shared destiny.
In his address to the 46th GCC Supreme Council Summit in Bahrain, His Highness said the Council’s cohesion has enabled it to remain the pillar of stability and a model of collective strength for future generations.
The Amir expressed deep appreciation to Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for hosting the summit and congratulated the Kingdom on its presidency of the current session and its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2026–2027.
He also extended gratitude to the GCC leaders for their cooperation during Kuwait’s presidency of the previous session, noting their commitment to the vision of the founding fathers and their shared pursuit of prosperity and integration.
Highlighting the GCC’s growing political and economic influence, His Highness pointed to a number of initiatives undertaken during the past year to strengthen strategic partnerships with regional and international organizations.
He commended the GCC Secretary-General, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, and the General Secretariat for their efforts in advancing joint GCC initiatives and supporting Kuwait’s leadership role.
Reiterating Kuwait’s firm positions on regional issues, His Highness condemned the ongoing Israeli occupation and aggression against the Palestinian people, reaffirming support for an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to cooperating with Iraq on all bilateral agreements, including completing the demarcation of maritime borders beyond point 162, in line with international law.
HH the Amir further underscored that any attack on a GCC member state constitutes an attack on the entire bloc.
Concluding his address, His Highness praised Bahrain’s organization of the summit and prayed for continued security, stability, and prosperity across the Gulf region.
