HH the Amir committed to restoring nation’s original identity and heritage: Sheikh Fahad

Amir leads efforts to correct four decades of mistakes from 1961 to date, revive Kuwait’s founding values; race against time to rebuild Kuwait’s legacy

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, highlighted the urgent efforts of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in addressing the cumulative mistakes that have affected Kuwait over the past forty years.

In a statement to Al-Rai newspaper, Sheikh Al-Yousef said that His Highness the Amir is “fighting against time” to rectify the errors of the past and restore the country to its foundational principles. “The Amir’s vision is focused on returning Kuwait to its original state and reinforcing its national identity,” he explained.

Sheikh Al-Yousef emphasized that the goal is to revive the Kuwait that once nurtured the Constituent Assembly in 1961, which laid the groundwork for the nation’s Constitution, and the First National Assembly in 1963, which established the framework for parliamentary governance.

According to Sheikh Al-Yousef, the Amir’s dedication is not just about administrative reform but about rekindling the values, pride, and unity that have historically defined Kuwait. “His Highness is determined to ensure that the country’s institutions and society align once again with the principles that made Kuwait a model of stability and progress in the region,” he said.

The First Deputy Prime Minister highlighted that the Amir’s initiatives are guided by a vision that balances modern development with respect for Kuwait’s heritage. This approach, he noted, aims to ensure sustainable growth while preserving the cultural and political foundations that underpin the nation.

Sheikh Al-Yousef’s remarks reflect a broader commitment by Kuwait’s leadership to strengthen governance, enhance national identity, and correct longstanding challenges that have accumulated over decades.

By focusing on the country’s original vision and identity, the Amir seeks to inspire a renewed sense of civic responsibility among citizens, encouraging participation in nation-building and a collective effort to overcome past shortcomings.

Officials working closely with the Amir’s office, Sheikh Al-Yousef noted, are fully aligned with this mission, ensuring that policies and reforms are implemented efficiently and in accordance with the nation’s long-term strategic goals.

The Deputy Prime Minister concluded by reiterating that Kuwait’s progress depends on both leadership and public cooperation. “The path to restoring Kuwait’s original stature requires dedication from every citizen, and His Highness the Amir is leading by example in this crucial endeavor,” he said.
