Hezbollah will not surrender its weapons; and aggression will continue: Qassem

Hezbollah Secretary-General Naeem Qassem declared that the group will not relinquish its weapons, warning that ongoing aggression will persist.

Speaking today, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Qassem criticized the Lebanese government’s August 5 decision, saying it effectively strips the country of its defensive arms during a period of aggression and facilitates the killing of resistance fighters and their families.

He accused the government of serving “the Israeli project, whether it is aware of it or not,” and warned that the decision threatens coexistence and could plunge Lebanon into a “very major crisis.” Qassem urged against dragging the Lebanese army into internal strife.

Calling for unity, Qassem stated: “The country cannot be built with one component without another. This is our homeland. We live in dignity together and build its sovereignty together, or Lebanon will not survive if you stand on the other side.”

He further confirmed that Hezbollah and the Amal Movement have agreed to postpone public demonstrations, allowing time for discussion and potential amendments to the government’s decision.
