Hawalli Municipality begins prosecution of expatriates violating camp subletting regulations

Faisal Al-Otaibi, the Director of the Cleaning and Road Occupancy Department in the Hawalli Governorate Municipality Branch, and Chairman of the Spring Camps Committee, has announced the initiation of legal action against expatriates who unlawfully sublet camps, whether the camps are licensed or unlicensed, reported Al-Rai Daily.

Al-Otaibi highlighted that recent inspection campaigns conducted on land have yielded substantial results in reducing the number of camps in violation. However, expatriates continue to be the primary offenders when it comes to neglecting camp license requirements. In an interview with Al-Rai, Al-Otaibi stated that the count of licensed camps for the current season has reached 1,300, a significant increase compared to last year when the number did not exceed 900. The municipality is actively involved in granting more licenses to both citizens and expatriates who express interest in setting up camps.
