Hawalli Governor pushes for more green spaces to protect environment
Ali Al-Asfar commended the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources for promoting sustainable development, raising environmental awareness, and encouraging community participation in greening efforts.
Ali Al-Asfar, the Governor of Hawalli, emphasized the importance of expanding green spaces in the governorate to enhance its aesthetics, protect the environment, and improve air quality, according to Al Rai newspaper.
This was highlighted during the governor’s participation, alongside the Director of the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries, Nasser Taqi, and a group of scouting students from the National School, in a tree-planting activity at the Governorate’s General Office park as part of the “Green Hawalli Governorate” initiative, coinciding with Greening Week.
The governor stated that “the Greening Week event helps raise students’ awareness of the importance of agriculture and environmental preservation, fostering their national pride and sense of volunteerism to maintain the beauty of our beloved country, Kuwait.”
He also praised the efforts of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources in promoting sustainable development, increasing environmental awareness within society, and encouraging citizens and residents to participate in greening efforts.
