Thousands of football fans from Bahrain and Oman have arrived in Kuwait for the highly anticipated final of the Khaleeji Zain 26 (Gulf Cup), which is set to take place on Saturday night, 4th January, at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.
After two weeks of thrilling football showcasing the talents of eight Arabian Gulf national teams, the tournament culminates with the final two, Bahrain and Oman, battling it out in front of an expected sold-out crowd of 60,000 fans.
With tickets quickly sold out by Kuwait’s passionate football fans, it is expected that 18,000 supporters will travel from Bahrain and around 10,000 tickets have been purchased by fans in Oman, ensuring a festive atmosphere at the state-of-the-art Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.
The tournament has been a resounding success, with hundreds of thousands of fans filling the two stadiums for the 14 matches held so far. The exceptional organization has received widespread praise from all quarters.
Bahrain secured their spot in the final with a dramatic 1-0 victory over the hosts, while Oman pulled off a stunning 2-1 upset against the highly favored Saudi Arabia in their semi-final.
The stage is set for a thrilling final between two in-form teams. Oman, finalists in the previous edition, who are aiming for their third Gulf Cup title, their last triumph coming in 2018, while, Bahrain are chasing their second title, having claimed their first in 2019.
The “Khaleeji Zain 26” (Gulf Cup) final is scheduled to kick-off on Saturday, 4 January, at 7.00pm (Kuwait time).
