Greece congratulates Kuwait on the occasion of National & Liberation days

On the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the National Day and the 34th anniversary of Liberation Day of Kuwait, I extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, on behalf of the Government and the people of Greece.
These anniversaries have a significant importance, pointing out the resilience and the determination of the Kuwait people, as well as their unwavering commitment to freedom and sovereignty. This particular day serves as a strong reminder of the solid spirit and the principle of unity.
It is a privilege as Ambassador of Greece to acknowledge the longstanding diplomatic relations between Greece and Kuwait, which have flourished and reinvigorated since their establishment in 1964. Our two nations have shared and continue to share mutual respect and close cooperation. We, the Greek nation, are particularly proud because we contributed substantially to the coalition of nations which culminated in the liberation of Kuwait in 1991.
Additionally, since Greece has embarked on its new journey as a non permanent member of the UN Security Council, it should be given the opportunity to further defend and promote those sacred values that characterized the strong bonds between our two nations, that is, abiding by international law and preserving the principles of sovereignty and friendship.
Within the context of current global challenges, we commit ourselves anew to work together for peace and stability in the region and across the globe.
H.E. Ioannis Plautas
Ambassador of Greece
