Govt declares, June 26 Islamic New Year holiday

The Council of Ministers, headed by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah, held its weekly meeting today, Tuesday.

During the session, the Cabinet announced that the Hijri New Year holiday for the year 1447 AH will fall on Thursday, June 26, 2025, and will be observed as an official public holiday, reports Al-Rai daily.

Work will be suspended across all ministries, government agencies, public bodies, and institutions, and will resume on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

The Cabinet noted that entities with a special nature of work will have their holiday schedules determined by their respective authorities in line with the public interest.
